fAnTaSt, Rey Lenon

fAnTaSt ist eine neue Experimental Electro Combo mit Mitgliedern der Wiener/Linzer Band KOKO. Dieser Konzertabend bietet uns auch eindlich die Gelegenheit, Rey Lenon aus Berlin einzuladen, die wir schon lange ins Programm aufnehmen wollten. Über klassisches Piano gelegte verzerrte Synthizer Sounds und eine einzigartigen Stimme überzeugen mit eingängigen Songs.

fAnTaSt is a three-headed crossover of experimental hip-hop, worldbeats and alternative/industrial. Fantast is Daniel Gschwendtner (vocals), Mario Gschwendtner (drums) and Georg Wolfmayr (synths, bass) and was born in 2018. With unexpected twists and unusual sound, scattered worldbeat influences and dreamy field recordings, their music works through the eerie remembrance of growing up and the overbearing power of the past, endless retro loops and promises of the primitive. The present, a time machine which functions only only in reverse. Shrouded in the cozy glow of times gone past, a melancholy for a future already lost sneaks up, a disenchantment in the face of the endless recurrence of the same and things we thought long overcome. Yet, even in this mournful defeat stirs a lust for creating, fantasiz ing and fabricating; a need for music as a necessary tool for imagining a different world.

Rey Lenon is a young artist based in Berlin. She mixes classical piano sounds with distorted synthesizers and her unique voice, leading to exciting new sounds. She had her debut on Einmusika Recordings with the internationally known DJ- and Producer-Duo BAAL, directly following with her Solo-EP „War“ - which both got great reviews and showed her talent for songwriting and catchy melodies.
